Video disc players

Has anyone any ideas on fixing a Video Disc Player? Problem is a recurring loop while playing. After 10-15 seconds, there is a slight phiszzt and the scene starts over. This happens on any disc, in any chapter. Player is a Pioneer cld s104 and has no rs232 port.
